Biltrite completes purchase of Hercules custom mixing unit

(Findlay, Ohio)  Biltrite Industries has completed its purchase of the custom mixing business of Hercules Tire & Rubber Co., giving Canada-based Biltrite it's firs US production base.  Terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.

The 150,000 sq.-ft. plant in Findlay began operating under the Biltrite name on May 2.  The production, technical and support service teams at the former Hercules operation were maintained to assure as smooth a transition as possible, Marvin Sherkin, Biltrite president and CEO, said in a letter to customers.  All teams will operate under the leadership of J. Maurice Lemieux, newly appointed General Manager of the Findlay operations.

"We know the Findlay operation will thrive as part of the Biltrite Industries family, where custom mixing is a tradition," Sherkin said in the letter.
