Our History

Biltrite Industries was founded under the name of Biltrite Tire Company Ltd in 1946. In 1969, Biltrite Tire was restructured by its founder, who moved its location to Princess Street in downtown Toronto. In 1984, Biltrite Industries moved to its current facility, 170 North Queen Street, minutes from downtown Toronto. Biltrite Industries now has additional mixing facilities in Findlay, Ohio.

With four Banbury Lines plus Calender and Extrusion services all dedicated to custom mixing, compounding and post production services, Biltrite Industries is Canada's largest independent custom mixer.

Now, with the integration of our Findlay factory we have added three more Banbury mixers plus Extrusion services. Working internationally we can provide our customers with fast, flexible service. Biltrite is dedicated to supplying customers with quality rubber compounds at a competitive price.

Expanding to Meet Our Customers Needs

Since 1995, Biltrite Industries has more than doubled its plant capacity, increased its warehousing and improved research & development laboratory space. Since its latest expansion in 2001, Biltrite Industries facilities are now approximately 130,000 square feet. With easy access to the highway and four Banbury mixing production lines all fully automated, in addition to our Calender Line (designed for both supported and unsupported Calendering services) and Extruder, Biltrite continually works to improve and automate its processes in order to provide our customers with the flexibility and high quality their recipes demand.

In May 2005 Biltrite Industries expanded its presence in the international marketplace with its acquisition of the the custom mixing division of the Hercules Tire & Rubber Company. The addition 150,000 sq. ft. facility added 3 mixers, packaging systems and lab facilities to the Biltrite family. More importantly, we have gained the knowledge and experience of the staff at the Findlay facility. Their years of experience in the custom mixing industry have helped strengthen our base of expertise.
